My Own October Surprise

Not much of a surprise to some of you, in that it is hard to tell a liberal from a terrorist or a mad, whacko tyrant.

See how you do in this little test:Who Said? A Quiz to show how similar liberals and terrorists are...

Mark Foley Revisited

Just so I get this straight.

We have Mark Foley who sent illicit instant messages to a former page that was 17 or 18. Republicans find out about it, and he is forced to resign. No actual sex has ever been accused, confessed or even insinuated in this case.

On the other hand, we have Gerry Studds who had REAL sex with a 17-year-old ACTIVE and CURRENT page. He did not resign, nor did the Democrats force him to resign.

But it's the Republicans that are in the wrong. Maybe you can use your dazzling intellect and explain that to me. 'Cuz it seems to me, the Republican Party did the right thing in a case that was far less extreme than the Democrat Party did in a case that was far MORE extreme.

Or Democrat Joe Biden's racial slurs:
In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.

Still in office. Still a leader of his party, and a 2008 presidential hopeful. Remember Hillary's Mahatma Ghandi running a gas station comment? She said it was a joke. Brilliantly, Biden even closes that door: "I'm not joking".

Or former KKK clansmen, Democrat Robert Byrd:
There are white niggers. I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time.

Still in office. Still a leading voice of the Democrats.

Yet, Republican Trent Lott resigned as Senate Republican Leader for telling an old, and dying man, a Democrat no less, that he would have been a good president.

And what do you think about Harry Reid's ethics problems:
An Associated Press expose shows that Reid pushed through changes in federal law that helped the senator get rich - via complex land deals with a lobbyist who's also tied up in a federal bribery case.

Again, Tom Delay resigned for something unproven and less severe than this. Reid stays on.

Oh, and what do you think about William Jefferson not resigning.
Rep. Jefferson has been the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation by the federal government since approximately March 2005. In August 2005, federal agents searched his home in New Orleans and his home and car in Washington, D.C., as well as the home and office of his campaign accountant in New Orleans after Rep. Jefferson was videotaped accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from Lori Mody, a Northern Virginia investor and former technology executive who was wearing an FBI wire. During the raid on Rep. Jefferson’s home, FBI agents found $90,000 in cash in $10,000 increments wrapped in foil in the Congressman’s freezer.

Still in office.

Uhm, I can't think of a comparable Republican story. Maybe Bob Ney, but he's on his way out. Like Republicans would expect.
